Do you remember the classic game, Scorched Earth, which saw two tanks in a 2D landscape shooting at each other? This full freeware game, Scorched 3D, is based loosely (or actually quite heavily now) on the old DOS game. However, Scorched 3D adds amongst other new features a 3D island environment and LAN and internet play. Scorched 3D is totally free.
And it's just as fun as the original game, although the 3D element requires a lot more skill than the 2D landscape did. This is the full installer, version 39.
Version 39 adds many new features such as:
- 3D Positional Sound
- Ambient sounds
- Birds and flying models
- Reduction in player lagging timeout
- And many more additions and fixes
